Furtivo é um convite a pensar os espaços. Através do skate e da arte, Furtivo convida-nos a refletir sobre o espaço físico em que vivemos, não como um produto acabado e fixo, mas como uma possibilidade de criação conjunta de espaços públicos e privados, e de reapropriação dos que já existem, de forma a permitirem a nossa expressão.Com foco nesses lugares alternativos construídos coletivamente, destaca o quão essenciais são como ferramenta para construir comunidade, encontrar-nos e partilhar, e para fortalecer os laços sociais. E como a perda desses espaços, e da cultura que os rodeia, nos empurra cada vez mais para a individualidade e a desunião.
Furtivo is an invitation to think about spaces. Through skateboarding and art, Furtivo invites us to think about the physical space we live in not as a finished and fixed product, but instead, as a possibility of creating public and private space together, and of re-appropriating the existing ones in a way that they allow us to express ourselves.With the focus on those alternative places made collectively, it points out how necessary they are as a tool to build community, meet and share, and strengthen social ties. And how losing those spaces and the culture that surrounds them pushes us more and more towards individuality and disagreement.
Carolina De Matthaeis (1992), studied at the Argentine National University of Art until she moved to Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 2021, where she continues to be active in the fields of printmaking, painting and photography. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group shows in her native country, Slovenia and abroad.
